CASSAVA…..
Tropic’s Most Versatile Crop

The uses of this amazing vegetable stretch well beyond belief. Crammed with essential vitamins and micro minerals, masses of fiber, and starch, Cassava is sweet in taste and gelatinous in texture. This root vegetable puts in appearances in African cuisine throughout the continent. It is so versatile that it can be boiled, roasted, fried, baked, or ground to flour. Tapioca flour (Cassava starch) is found in grocery stores and processed foods around the globe. Used as a thickener, it is an ingredient in many bread recipes as well as puddings, baking, desserts, snacks, and even bubble tea. Cassava is a popular substitute for other root vegetables in many tropical countries.
